DESCRIPTION
A private commission painted in 2014. This iconic image inspired by JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit predicts the dragon Smaug waking from its slumber to find a “thief” at work in its lair. It was later licensed by Roxxcalibur for their 2015 album Gems of the NWOBHM.

I actually went on the site looking for The Walled Kingdom, but saw this and immediately fell in love - one of my favourite stories illustrated by one of my favourite artists.
Others that have seen the picture have remarked that it's a beautiful piece of work (now appropriately framed).
