DESCRIPTION
From Matthews' illustrated version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, published by Templar in 2008. This is a preliminary drawing of the dodo, depicted here upon a rock, overseeing the strange spectacle that is "a caucus race". Having swam in the pool of tears, Alice and the many weird and wonderful creatures participate in the event in attempt to race themselves dry. As with all good caucus races it has no rules and everyone wins!
