DESCRIPTION

Painted in 1976, this image was one of 12 in a series of Michael Moorcock-influenced images commissioned for posters by Big O (UK, Germany and USA) and later published in calendar format.  The scene is from The Ice Schooner, an intriguing tale set in a future ice age of a great expedition to the far north in search of the legendary lost city of New York!

    A long time coming

I've been looking for this picture for a very long time. That the heavens for the internet cause I finally found it. First was the poster/card when I was in my late teens. Now I am 60 and it is good to have it back on my wall. Thanks Rodney for sharing your work still.

    My Fave

I bought a few Matthews posters in my college days (late '70s). This was my favorite. It's an imaginative realization of the ship, but one that is respectful of its source material. This is the only one I still had on my wall when graduation came. (This review is based on my memory of the original edition.)

    Positive purchase

I bought this for my dad, having kept an eye on availability for quite some time. He was overjoyed with the gift and has replaced his Terence cuneo over the mantle. Thank you
